Welcome to Resolve2Run 2024!

The Resolve2Run 5K/10K Run-Walk is a wonderful event that brings runners, family and friends together, and is a great way to start the New Year healthy. It takes place annually (rain or shine) on New Year’s Day, beginning at 10 am at Chicago Park School. It winds it’s way through some of the most beautiful areas of Nevada County. Headed up by the Chicago Park 4-H Club.

Please join us this year and make a difference in your life and the life of your community!

The Resolve2Run is a fundraiser for the Chicago Park 4-H Club, the Chicago Park School PTA, and the Peardale/Chicago Park Firefighters’ Association.

The Chicago Park 4-H Club, the oldest continuously running 4-H Club in California, has been firmly planted in this community since 1929. We are committed to the youth of Nevada County, providing amazing opportunities for our members to learn and grow through our many projects, such as raising animals (beef, sheep, swine, goats, rabbits and poultry), sewing, fine arts, crafts, aeronautics, biking, survival skills, cooking and much more. We have an emphasis on serving our community and giving back through service projects such as our Annual Fire Safe Clean Up for the elderly who are unable to care for their property. Funds raised through this event enable us to keep the enrollment costs for our members reasonable, enabling more youth to participate. We also provide scholarships for graduating seniors who have excelled in leadership and service within our community. We are participants in buying animals at the Nevada County Fair’s Youth Livestock Auction, enabling more youth to succeed in their projects and making sure they’re able to participate in the following year.

The Chicago Park School PTA‘s goal is to improve the education, health, and welfare for all children that attend its school. PTA develops a sense of community and funds many essential programs including: the music/drama program, art program, after school sports, assemblies, science equipment, and much more!

The Chicago Park Firefighters Association is an organization comprised of the staff and volunteers of the Chicago Park Fire Protection District. Our goal is to support the efforts of the Fire Protection District by organizing and participating in fund raising activities which will then enable the Association to purchase equipment necessary to maintain the efficient function and operation of our efforts in vehicle accidents, structure fires, medical incidents and wildland firefighting. We also support worthy causes such as our annual Holiday gift of food and presents to a needy family who reside within the district. Some of the recent hardware and equipment that we have purchased include battery powered scene lighting, low angle rescue ropes and hardware, safety cones, weather station monitor, radio upgrades, CPR training manikins and many other tools and hardware which are used on our engines and other utility vehicles.

We appreciate all those in our community who have supported us and we hope to reciprocate in as many ways as possible!
